Giveamay is an annual giveaway event that takes place every day, for the entire month of May. Announcements take place on twitter with the hashtag #giveamay and feature a preview of each day's game.
The first Giveamay began on the 1st of May 2021. That year, Sophie was wondering how to drive up engagement in the Discord Server, as it was a requirement for keeping the partnership benefits. A regular visitor to the server, querijn (formerly known as Holland), suggested to make a daily giveaway giving away video game keys that several members still had lying around. Given the massive amount of keys, it was decided to do it for a whole month. As May was coming up, it was decided to start at the first of May, and Sophie appropriately dubbed it Giveamay.
The bot used for this was a copy of Botty McBotface, a bot that was in use for a Riot Games volunteer server, where Sophie was employed at the time. The bot was written in Typescript, using NodeJS.
Giveamay 2021[]
Giveamay 2021 featured a discord bot called Cakey McCakeface which randomly selected one lucky winner each day. In order to enter, a person would simply have to post in the mscupcakes discord server and would automatically be eligible to win.
Giveamay 2022[]
Giveamay 2022 was game-show themed, Cakey McCakeface returned this year, however the countdown and reveal now included a video with a bunny-suit clad mscupcakes rolling a giant wheel to select the winner. int3 created the video generation process and Benalki drew and designed the video.
Spinoff content[]

During the first Giveamay, several users won an unusual amount of times, wondering whether or not the algorithm preferred some people. int3 checked, but found that there was no evidence for it as the random number generator was working fine, and the user list would be jumbled naturally due to it being ordered by whoever messaged first, so there was no reason to suspect false random numbers. Regardless, the game would be called rigged, and became a meme because of it. In the second year, Benalki whipped up an emote that conveyed this messsage.
